Unlock your creativity!

One of my fondest childhood memories is of being with my grandma – who was an artist – drawing, painting, colouring and rummaging through all her art treasure at her house. Not everyone has this magical early influence in art, but I believe that all people are born creative.

Children love to cut, stick, scribble, doodle, make marks, shapes and patterns. They don’t think about what will go wrong or how it will turn out, they just enjoy the moment, the colours, the materials and how it feels. It’s only when we grow up and start to care about what other people think that we lose our creative flow.

This is what happened to me and it was compounded by some fairly grown up life events. Not feeling able to create made me miserable, frustrated and guilty.

Then I discovered Art Journaling, completely by accident, and I can honestly say that I haven’t looked back! I’d love for you to experience this too with Art Stories’ introductory course, Art Journaling for Beginners.

My new improved online course Art Journaling for Beginners will help you discover the power and freedom of this playful way of creating art

Together we’ll experiment together with different media and materials, and by learning new techniques – collage, paints, words, stamps, mark making, ink splattering – really, anything goes!

There are no rules; only happy accidents. I want you to let go of perfectionism and embrace mistakes (which is a metaphor for life right?!)

Art Journaling for Beginners will encourage you to be more childlike and not worry about the outcome. Because a magical thing happens when you focus on what you are doing in the moment – you start to like what you are doing, which in turn will build your confidence so that you can find your own style.
